The Inside Story

Book and lyrics by Ken Pickering
Music and additional lyrics by John Dawson and Philip Bass

An exuberant, modem musical for young people which explores the very topical, ever-present issue of animal welfare in zoos. Many species of animal are represented and, through songs ranging from raps to sad ballads, their feelings of sadness and dismay are revealed. Two secret agents of dubious appearance highlight the point of destruction of the animal kingdom and the musical concludes with both animals and humans singing of one world "to live in or destroy".
