The Good Old Bad Old Days
Book music & lyrics by Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley.
Prince of Wales Theatre - 20 December, 1972 (309 perfs)
Synopsis
A kewpie-doll named Bubba tries to persuade God not to throw in the towel and destroy the world. He does this by presenting God with a pageant of mankind through the ages.
The show consists mainly of a series of revusical scenes which takes the action from the Mayflower to the French Revolution to the American Civil War to Broadway, all accompanied by some trite philosophising, homespun homilies, some not very funny jokes, and a handful of songs.
